Started back in 2011 when Marc and Simone met at a coffee shop arguing about whether brutalism was dead or just hibernating. Turns out we both had this thing for old buildings that deserved better and new buildings that should've known better.
Look, we're not gonna bore you with fancy architectural jargon. Here's the deal - every building's got a story, and we're pretty obsessed with making sure that story doesn't end with a wrecking ball or a soulless glass box. We've spent years crawling through century-old attics and sketching designs on napkins at 2 AM because when you care about this stuff, it kinda takes over your life.
Heritage restoration? That's where our hearts live. But we're not stuck in the past - we're just trying to drag the good parts forward. Sustainable design isn't a checkbox for us; it's literally how we think about every single project. Because what's the point of preserving yesterday if we're trashing tomorrow?
Co-Founder & Principal Architect. Spent 5 years in Europe studying buildings older than Canada. Has strong opinions about cornice details.
Co-Founder & Urban Design Lead. Grew up sketching cityscapes. Believes every neighborhood deserves architecture that actually gives a damn.
A few projects that kept us up at night (in the best way possible)
1890s warehouse that became mixed-use without losing its character
Community-focused development with actual green space people use
Net-zero home that doesn't look like a spaceship landed
We've got about 18 people in our Toronto studio now - architects, urban planners, historians, sustainability nerds, and one intern who's way too good at SketchUp. Everyone here genuinely cares about the work, which sounds cheesy but it's true. We argue a lot (in a productive way), drink too much coffee, and occasionally remember to go home before midnight.
If you're into buildings that respect their context, cities that work for actual humans, and design that doesn't sacrifice tomorrow for today's Instagram post - yeah, we should probably talk.
Years Making Buildings Better
Projects That Didn't Compromise
Whether it's a heritage building that needs saving or a blank lot that deserves something special, let's figure it out together.
Let's Talk About It
